A Schoolboy Called Justin Bieber Out On The Bad Grammar In One of His Hit Songs

A schoolboy has penned a pretty awesome letter to Justin Bieber, calling the singer out on his poor grammar.

The young boy, a Key Stage 2 pupil from Cornwall, pointed out that one of Biebs’s 2012 hits was plagued with grammatical errors and, as a gesture of goodwill, corrected the lyrics for him.

In the letter – which was shared by teacher Louise Williams on Facebook – the boy informs JB he wants to “raise an issue” with the song Boyfriend.

“In the song, you can be heard – on a number of occasions – stating ‘If I was your boyfriend’: here you have clearly used the subjunctive mood incorrectly,” the schoolchild writes.

“The correct lyrics should, in fact, be ‘If I were your boyfriend’.”
The boy cuts Bieber a little slack, admitting it’s a common mistake to make, but he states that as such a successful artist he really shouldn’t be making such errors.

“You may reply to this by stating that such grammar inaccuracies are not of any importance. I strongly disagree,” the letter continues.

“I find it incredibly disappointing that you are unable to follow what is considered to be the basics of  English language.”
“My final point is this,” the boy concludes. “If current performers such as Beyonce can write a song using the subjunctive mood correctly, so must you.”
